[...] If you’re interested in making the change from four wheels to two for your work commute, U.S. Open Cycling is holding a Commuting Skills Course aimed at empowering people with the on-road cycling skills to navigate their way to work on two wheels. The course is $200 and includes 4 three-hour sessions combining on-bike and interactive presentations to cover everything from sharing the road, managing complex traffic scenarios and handling flat tires and minor breakdowns. They also will discuss techniques and products to help you be socially acceptable at work after you have ridden in (if, for example, your workplace has no shower). The course begins Thursday, June 23 at 6:00pm and takes place at Legend Bicycle, 181 Brook Street in Providence. If a make-up session is necessary, it will take place on July 21. This course is limited to 15 attendees. Register at usopencycling.org/education/ [...]
